Fading or to change colour of Aluminium Window ?

Most of aluminium window are in powder coating finish and can be last for more than 10 years without fading.

However, there are cases such as due to lack of maintenance, damages, scratches or change of colour.

The Pro and Cons of repainting of Aluminium Window:

• Repainting is cheaper than replace a new set of aluminium window. Especially the curtain wall or full height aluminium window with fixed panel.  The replacement is a special job and may require rope access/ boom lift / gondola to perform the work. Most of replacement will only be considered, unless the aluminum window is beyond repair and badly leaking issue.
• Repainting work should consider in spraying method instead of brush painting. The shortfall of spraying work is required many protection work and labour intensive. This is advisable if your home/ office is vacate and under renovation.
• Repainting is only available for internal side. The external side is not achievable due to accessibility and facade colour control by management.
• The repainting coating may not be as last as factory powder coated finishes. The life span is subject to weather ,direct sun light and fading over the time.

Why Spraying paint instead of normal brush paint?

Normal painting work over the aluminium work with paint brush may not as nice as spraying finish. All window frame should be undercoat/ primer coat and complete with fast dry auto paint. All the window handle, grille is recommended to be removed and re-installed after painting is done.
